Getting your Medical Marijuana Card Referral in Lancaster Ohio
Getting Your Referral
To get your Medical marijuana card in Lancaster, you first have to be diagnosed with one of the qualifying conditions by a physician. You can also qualify as a current patient of Precision Pain Care with a qualifying condition.
If you are not a current patient
You will need to be diagnosed by your Primary care provider, and have them send a referral which lists your diagnosis to Precision Pain Care (fax 740 689 9555)
If you are a current patient
If you are a current patient, and the doctor has not already talked to you about using medical marijuana, give our office a call and the doctor will evaluate to see if you are a candidate. Once the doctor evaluates your situation, we will call you back to schedule your medical marijuana evaluation. Please keep in mind that the Medical Marijuana card recommendation visit is not covered by any insurance and is an out of pocket expense.
Care Givers
If you wish to obtain your Medical Marijuana card as a caregiver, the person you are caring for must be a patient we have already seen and we have recommended for their Medical Marijuana Card. They can also be a current patient of Precision Pain Care who wishes to be evaluated and recommended for their Medical Marijuana Card.
Current patients of Precision Care and their caretaker can be scheduled at the same appointment for their evaluation, and pay separate fees. If you are not a current patient of Precision Pain Care, the patient will need to be evaluated first and recommended before the caregiver can schedule their appointment for recommendation. At Your Appointment
Once we receive your referral, we will call you to schedule an appointment—OR—Call Precision Pain Care at 740 689-9500 to schedule a Medical Marijuana Card visit at our Lancaster office. Please bring a copy of your medical record, including your diagnosis, to your visit.
What to Bring to Your Appointment
1: You will need to have a valid Ohio Drivers’ License or Ohio ID Card
2: Valid Email address you can access.
3: $200 in cash. All transactions for medical marijuana must be paid at time of visit. This includes a $100 non-refundable examination fee, and a $100 State of Ohio recommendation application fee.

Doctor Evaluation for Recommendation for Medical Marijuana Card
Our medical marijuana doctors, Dr. Linehan or Dr. Battista, will evaluate you and then determine if you qualify for recommendation for a medical marijuana card. If you have a referral with a qualifying condition from a physician or you are a current patient we have prequalified, there should not be a problem with your review. We can—in certain circumstances—deny your application for recommendation. Reasons for denial would include but are not limited to: suspected drug abuse, fraud and unqualified medical condition.
In the case you are denied, you will be refunded the state application portion of your fee ($100) but forfeit the $100 examination fee.
Submission and State Fees
Once you complete the evaluation and are deemed a candidate for medical marijuana, we submit your information to the Ohio Medical Marijuana Control Program (OMMC) Patient Registry. Instructions will be sent to your to your email account . You will confirm and complete your registration for the program through the Patient & Caregiver Registry and pay the state fee. The annual cost of a medical marijuana registration is $50 for patients and $25 for caregivers.

Q: Will insurance cover my MM Card?
No, Insurance will not pay for your visit or any part of your MM Card.
Q: Why do I need to see my physician for a referral before I see you ?
Only a physician with an active Certificate to Recommend (CTR) from the State Medical Board of Ohio can recommend you for your medical marijuana card in Lancaster. or Reynoldsburg. Since we are a pain care clinic, we require a referral from a physician before we evaluate you for the medical marijuana card recommendation. Current patients of Precision Pain Care do not need a referral from another physician.
Q: How much will this cost me?
Your doctor’s visit at Precision Pain Care will cost $200. To purchase your MM Card from the State will be an additional $50. Yearly renewal visit is $100. Caregiver card visit is $100 and Caregiver Yearly follow up is $100.
Q: Is my fee refundable-if the physician finds me to not qualify for medical marijuana?
Of the total $200 fee, $100 will be refunded to you if you are found to not qualify for a medical marijuana recommendation.
Q: What if I experience problems with creating passwords, my connection drops or other issues while creating my account with the State of Ohio?
Your link in the activation email sent from the state can only be accessed once. If there is a problem with activating your account, you can contact the Medical Marijuana Control Program by phone at 1-833-464-6627, or by email at MMCPRegistry@pharmacy.ohio.gov. Provide your first name, last name, date of birth and preferred email address for your registry profile in order for a new registration link can be sent to you. Do not try to submit any additional identifying information.
Q: Can I buy marijuana right away, or do I have to wait for my card to arrive in the mail?
Unfortunately, you won’t be able to visit a dispensary unless you have a state-issued medical marijuana card in your hands. After submitting your application and paying the state fee, the card can take anywhere from 2-4 weeks to arrive.
